Hiking on Mt. Rainier

On the last day that my sister was here, we decided to hike in Mt. Rainier National Park. It was Caleb's first hiking experience, Jonathon has been with us a couple times before! It was such a beautiful day and we had such a fun time! Hiking is not my repertoire but Jake LOVES it and so does Brittany. Hiking is a lot work and I was out of breathe the majority of the time but it was so beautiful and peaceful! It was such a great experience for our family to be hiking together, to be in nature, to be in quiet, to get away from the busy world and feel closer to God. Jonathon did so great during the hike. Jake and I were really surprised because we thought he would get tired easily and start complaining five minutes into it, but he led the way half of the time all the way up the trail! We gave him a map of mt. rainier and he was glued to it, holding it up as we hiked up, looking for buried treasure. It was so cute! We didn't make it to the top of course, I was getting so tired towards the end, as were the babies. Caleb did great in his baby pack on daddy though! He loved it too, looking around wide eyed at all the huge trees! Mt. Rainier national forest is actually considered a rain forest, which is obvious by the way it looked with the most amazing trees and creeks and bridges and the smell of the mist. The way down was a lot faster than the way up of course and overall we had such a great time with my sister on her last day with us!

You can see Mt.Rainier from pretty much anywhere in our city and around the Seattle area, it's so huge!

Daddy and Caleb all ready to go :)

The beautiful creeks and Jonathon with his map :)

The moss on the trees is so beautiful!

Up we go, Jonathon with his map leading the way!
