Memorial Day

We had all of Jake's family over for a BBQ for the Memorial Day Holiday, including his cousins from Arizona in town visiting. It was a lot of fun having everyone over. Jake and I love hosting and having get together's with both family and friends. It's a lot of work; preparation, hosting and then the clean up, but its worth it. Last night I was talking with my mom, who has been the host of hundreds of parties over the years, and I asked her how she did it!? Jake and I were so tired last night after everyone left! But because it's so fun, Jake and I both hope to always have the opportunity to have people over where they can feel warmth and love in our home, enjoy food, good conversations and have fun! We had a wonderful day and are so thankful the sun came out to make the evening BBQ beautiful.
Jake's family: (L to R) Christian, Jake, Jonathon, me, Grandpa and Grandma Tracy, Joy and little Abby below them, Nathan, David (from AZ) next to the grandparents, Rae Lea holding Caleb, Evan below them, Bart next to Rae lea, then Megan, Brooke and her husband Brian holding their little Ryah (from AZ), Uncle Keith, Aunt Janet and Colton. Look at all those cousins, fun!
The BBQ master, he did a GREAT job outside with all the food. Being able to BBQ well was a requirement to marry me ;)
Aunt Janet holding my adorable little guy Caleb! She was able to get that belly laugh out of him!
Jake's sister Joy, cousin Brooke, and me. LOVE them!

Thank you to all the men and women who serve our country so willingly and to their families for all of the sacrifices they make in our behalf, we truly are grateful!!!

A special tribute to my Grandpa Ferguson who fought in WWII at Pearl Harbor. We love you and are so grateful. Grandpa won't tell us everything that happened on that tragic day, but we love to hear him tell some stories, we know it's hard for him.

God bless America

looks like a great Memorial Day Ashley. Glad you guys had a good time. It's funny how some guys light up around BBQ's isn't it? I loved your last post too, and I'm glad you share the quiet, intimate moments of your family with us as well as the fun ones. Your boys (and girls ;) will absolutely grow up differently, knowing what they know about Ryan, and the added testimony to the plan of Salvation. Thanks for sharing!
