Jake turned
28 yesterday and we had a great day from morning until night! He is two years away from 30, woah! I remember celebrating his 22nd birthday when we were dating. He flew me up here to WA, I was home in CA for the summer working, and it was the first time I met his family and everything. ANYWAY, here we are celebrating his 28th with three kids. For his birthday this year it was revolved around food, no surprise. Jake can eat anything and any amount and he stays the same. N o t f a i r ! For breakfast I made him this... we call it the
Grand Slam all
American breakfast. Jake slept in and I tried to keep the kids quiet all morning, which isn't possible with a squealing baby and hyper three year old :) Over the weekend we went to the mall because Jake wanted some new shoes and clothes for his birthday gift and so me and the kids traipsed along with him on his hunt at the mall, it was fun, even though it took three hours.

This picture below is horrible, taken by my cell, the light hit it wrong and I wish I would have taken it on my camera, anyway, but I needed proof that I cooked a
LOBSTER dinner! It's what the birthday boy wanted for dinner, no going to a restaurant, he wanted my cooking. I was shocked and a little disappointed because I love going out to eat and getting all dressed up. I was intimated cooking lobster too because I never had, but it all turned out very well (even though it smelled and the lobster shell is really poky and it hurt my fingers and I cringed touching it). I made myself a NY steak since I can't stand seafood :) Jake said he wants this every year now, in my mind I said (oh no!) because I was in the kitchen for what felt like all day. Maybe I should have burned everything on purpose for him to stick with restaurants! It's ok, I love serving him and he deserves it. Jake's mom took both the boys to her house and we had a
romantic dinner alone - at home, which was SO nice! After dinner we had
Snicker's Pie, Jake's absolute favorite pie that I made from non other than Mrs. Paula Deen's recipe. If you want it let me know because it is the best. We then went and saw Iron Man 2, which Jake had been wanting to see. The boys did great with Grandma and Grandpa and had a blast. That was the longest I had been away from Caleb,
five hours, so towards the end of our movie I was itching to hold my baby and kiss him non-stop!

SO happy birthday to the
love of my life, my better half, my
best friend, my source of comfort, smiles, and
butterflies even after six years together! I'm so grateful you were born and that I found you in little Provo, UT :)
