Caleb chose a Star Wars party for his big day and Jake and I had a good time planning it. I love how excited the kids get the week of their birthdays. It is such a fun event for them and I love doing all I can to celebrate them. I'm so glad they appreciate it too!
When the kids came in caleb was in charge of handing them their light saber for Jedi training with master Jake. Jake set up an obstacle course with laser beams up stairs, and storm trooper guys in the backyard along the fence to practice defeating as well. He's so good with kids and a good sport with always being the mascot or ring leader at the kids' parties, they had a blast with him.
I think their favorite part of the day was hitting the darth vader piƱata full of candy! They stuffed their treat bags so full when Caleb hit the final blow sending candy flying. I'm so glad it was a warm January day so we could spend most of the time outside.
Present time, he received so many great gifts. We were so thankful for the friends that came and made Caleb feel so special. It was an out of this world party!
I can't believe my rainbow baby is five. This moment seems like last week! Five sounds so old! With jonathon he really grew into a big boy from 4-5. So I'm expecting it to be similar for Caleb. He'll be starting kindergarten this year, playing tball this spring, and I'll blink and he will be 15! He was such a healing balm to our hearts that cold January evening in Seattle when he entered our lives and hearts. He and Ryan are only 17 months apart and everyone of those days was spent waiting to hold a baby in my arms again. He threw us for a loop when I went for a regular check up and the dr informed me that I was in labor and that his knee was coming down the birth canal, my first breech baby, with Bella to follow suit. Even though he still throws us for a loop, with his curious, nonstop energy, and inventive ways, we couldn't love him more. I love his engineering mind, his constant curiosity about things, always asking questions, his crazy tantrum side when he needs attention as the middle child, his sweet side when he says the cutest phrases, like "you're the most beautiful mom in the whole wide world" and gives me kisses. His smile warms my heart, he follows jonathon around everywhere he goes and gets his feelings hurt if jonathon doesn't play with him. He adores Bella and for the most part treats her gently. He loves learning and his preschool. He loves all his friends, animals, going to the park, playing sports, super heroes, church, ice cream, blue berries, waffles and taco salad. His daddy is his favorite person and can never get enough of him. We love you Caleb Ryan to the moon and back!
