San Francisco!

My sweet sister picked us up from the oakland airport bright and early at 8 am the week before Christmas. Flying alone with the kids is never ideal and I always dread it, but luckily they all slept on the flight and there were no large issues, like a lost car seat like last time! I'm getting pretty savvy at flying with 3 kids half way across the country.
We drove into San Francisco to spend the day and it was so fun being with my little sis. I love that city and it had been about a year since I had been there last. This was Isabella's first experience there! It was cold in the morning but as the day went on the sun came out and warmed us up.
We first took the kids to union square but it was crazy busy with holiday shoppers so we then took them to pier 39. That wharf is always fun and we had the best breakfast ever. Homemade tiny donuts and Nutella banana crepes that were amazing! The boys loved looking at Alcatraz, the old prison across the bay. They were so intrigued by its history and my experience of touring it when I was young ;)

Warming up by the fire and the cutest dog ever while eating our brunch.

A California winter, surfing santa :)

The amazing two story carousel

The highlight of our afternoon was when jonathon was picked out of the crowd to volunteer during the magic show. He was embarrassed and we laughed so much.

After the wharf Brittany took us to baker beach, which has the most incredible views of the Golden Gate Bridge. So breathtaking! It was nice to be on the California coast! Towards late afternoon the kids were done traveling and sightseeing so we headed home to grandma and grandpas house.
I love my sister so much. I love her energy, her zest for life, her outlook on things, and how she brings out the explorer and silly side in me!
