A Disney Christmas

Disneyland at Christmas time was so fun, magical even. Jonathon had a fever off on on throughout the day so that put a sad spin on what we had planned, but he mustered up his spirits as best he could, poor guy. When the medicine kicked in he did enjoy all the Disney treats, Cars ride and his favorite Pirate's of the Caribbean ride. We drove the 3 1/2 hours down to Disneyland Friday night, spent all day in the park Saturday and left Sunday. It was quite the busy weekend but we got so much in. This was an extra special occasion because it was my Grandpa Ferguson's first time to Disneyland, and he turns 90 this year! Five out of Seven of my moms siblings were able to come, coming in from Arizona and Utah. Some of my cousins from Utah were able to come, with their kids, some I haven't even met! That was so fun to be reunited at such an amazing place. I was also lucky enough to see one of my dearest friends from childhood, Ruth, who happened to be there with her family, I was able to meet her new little baby boy and that was so fun. I wish I had more quality time with everyone, but it's hard when you have a big group, everyone wanting to do different things.

We went to Cars land and saw Mater and Lightening McQueen, Caleb was in heaven. My Grandpa even went on the Cars ride and he loved it :) For lunch we had the best chili cones in Cars land at the cozy cone hotel. After that we went on more rides, watched the awesome Christmas Fantasy parade, had dinner at the coolest restaurant inside the Pirate's ride on the water called the Blue Bayou. I had the best fried ham sandwich and jambalaya and Jake had one of his southern favorite's, gumbo! We sang to Grandpa, even though his birthday was last fall, but just to celebrate him being there, his life and legacy. The entire park was decorated Christmas, that made it even more fun, with huge Christmas tree's. At night after some shopping, carousel riding beside Sleeping beauty's castle and some Mickey mouse treats, we watched the awesome firework show as Christmas music played, and then... it snowed! It really was magical and I was happy we decided to go, even with a sick boy in tow. Being there with my family, especially my Grandpa, parents, aunts and uncles, will be a memory I will cherish.
