Kiss Me I'm Irish!

For St.Patrick's day I got this little hat that said "Kiss Me I'm Irish!" for the boys to wear and Jonathon got such a kick out of it, of course,  and kept asking for kisses after I explained to him what being Irish meant. I told him that my great-grandpa Jack McConnell  was full Irish and that his family was from Ireland, which makes me 1/8th and that's why we're celebrating the Irish! But he thought that was almost as cool as rainbow's, pots of gold, leprechauns, and eating all green :) He named the leprechaun he made Jack, so I'm thinking he got mixed up and thinks his great-great grandpa Jack was a leprechaun haha.  Jake and Jonathon set up a great leprechaun trap this year, with fools gold (chuck-e-cheese tokens) and sticky tape inside to keep the leprechaun stuck until morning. My five year old wasn't too happy that he got away the next morning, but I warned him that they rarely ever get caught because they're very tricky!

We decided to eat out for breakfast at batter-up, best pancake place, when the boys woke up around 7:30. I love going for breakfast with my family. My favorite there is the Nina, it's a pancake with oats, bananas and chocolate chips inside, yum! The kids and I made "green" velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting during the afternoon while Jake went on an Apple shopping spree for the new business (more on that to come soon... we're starting a "tracy castle" here!)

Afterwards we all went bowling. March 17th marks the date of my first date with Jake where we went bowling. It was a group date, but we still mark it as our first because that was the night we flirted (a ton) and could really tell something was starting. We never stopped dating after this date :) The boys loooooved bowling and we had a fun time. Jake and Jonathon almost tied for first place.

For dinner I made everything green of course, but got a little fancy on the main course. I made green mashed potatoes, asparagus, green apple juice, green fruit kabobs (so fun), and bacon wrapped chicken and shrimp! It was a st.patrick's dinner where we did a lot of "cheers" with our glasses for all that we're grateful for.

We posed for this picture re-enacting 8 years ago on the first date, Jake says I sat on his lap a lot during the bowling game, hmmm ;) Might be true.
