Mmm good!

One positive thing about the cold winter season is cozying up with some soup! I love making homemade soup and at Jake's request too, it is made a lot here in our home during the fall/winter. Our favorite's are potato soup, old fashioned chicken noodle, chili, taco soup and a new addition this year is Hungarian goulash! Jake loves jambalaya and I still have yet to try that one out. We first tried Hungarian goulash at the cafeteria in the Seattle Temple. When we both took the first bite it was hilarious because both of our eyes got really big and we both said, "Mmm!" We asked the cooks for the recipe after dinner and they happily gave it to us, however the measurements in the recipe were for huge portions, rightfully. So I had to cut the portions based on my own opinion and hope it would turn out. Turns out my guesses were good and it turned out great! The thing I love about soup is how cheap it cost to make it, how filling it is and how much you get out of one batch! I payed $17 in ingredients to make the potato soup and Hungarian goulash and the two soups fed our family  for a whole week! The longer soup sits, the better it taste too.

Potato Soup
I love potatoes so naturally this is one of my favorite soups, especially with bacon in it to give it that smokey flavor!

Hungarian Goulash
This savory soup has the wonderful flavors of beef stew, bell peppers and paprika!

May you be cozy as the cold November month presses on :)
