Big Brother

Jonathon is the sweetest big brother. We really are lucky for how well he has adjusted to Caleb. He is doing so much better than we thought he would! I think he was anxiously waiting as we were for Caleb to be born and he just couldn't be happier he has another little brother. He said to us the other night at the dinner table, "Caleb's not baby Ryan, baby Ryan's in heaven and Caleb right there (pointing to him)." It was sweet and I think he understands a little better now that Caleb isn't going anywhere :) I guess we were just hesitant by all the stories we heard of sibling rivalry, like my brother and I, and my moms journal entries of him hitting me at least once a day after I was born! Ha! Jonathon doesn't try and do anything like that, the only thing he does is out of curiosity. Be he knows not to touch baby unless mom or dad are there. He just loves to help out with everything: getting diapers for me when it's time to change Caleb, getting a pacifier without me even asking if Caleb starts to cry, holding baby on the couch whenever he can, etc. Jonathon hasn't really acted out either for extra attention. Jake and I try and get as much one on one time as we can with him. I'm grateful for my family when they were here to spoil him and take him all sorts of fun places, because those first two weeks probably would have been the time he acted out. Anyway, we're just so proud of him.

My sister Brittany captured some gorgeous photos of Jonathon while she was here and this post is all about Jonathon, my love!
Big brother loves to hold Caleb whenever he can... Caleb is stretching out here :)
Fun at the park with Grandma and Aunt Brittany!

The classic look we all love and adore haha
Look at those eyelashes! He gets those from Jake. He is just so beautiful.
Snuggling up with Aunt B on the ferry ride in Seattle, boy did he have a blast!
I LOVE this picture to death, his hair is so cute when it's longer like this, it's short now though... a little easier to manage.

Grandma and Jonathon had a baking fest going on while she was here
Cute shot of his little cowboy boots he wears everywhere
Sweet loves

Jonathon has such a special place in my heart, as my first child there's just something unique about that bond between us. He is getting so big so fast, now 3 1/2 and this summer he will be 4! How can that be? I'm excited for him to start preschool and little sports leagues and watch him grow and excel. He is so ready for those things too and excited whenever we talk about him going to school or playing sports. Jonathon's personality is so outgoing and hilarious, he loves to make people laugh. He has known what he wants since a newborn and I'm glad he can communicate that with us. He loves to snuggle up and give hugs and kisses, I cherish each one because I know those days won't always be! When I look back at his birth and compare with Caleb, wow, what a difference. My pregnancy with Jonathon, labor and delivery, and his first year of life was literally perfect and smooth as can be. I am grateful that I had that as a starting point in motherhood! Anyway... just a little post for my "big boy" as he likes to be called.
