Pumpkin Carvin'

For family night last night we carved our pumpkins! We love this tradition, this year marks four years that we have carved pumpkins with Jonathon! His first year he was only two months old and was asleep in his swing while we carved out pumpkins :) I guess Jake is known for always slicing his hand during his creative pumpkin carving episodes, so his mom was impressed that since we've been married and he's carved pumpkin's with me, he has had no injuries!

Jonathon loved all the ooey gooeyness inside the pumpkin and told me exactly what kind of eyes, nose, and mouth and teeth he wanted for his little pumpkin. He thought daddy's pumpkin was a little scary and had lots of fun using a little butter knife to "help" me carve.

During traditions like this I can't help but think of Ryan and how fun it would be to be sharing memories like this with him, he would be 14 months and walking all around... I hope that he can see us making these special memories and feel of the love we have for him and feel that he is in our thoughts too.

The little one inside felt the excitement of the evening and was kicking all around whenever Jonathon would shout out of joy at his pumpkin and when we all said "ooo" and "ahhh" at our pumpkins glowing by candlelight on our porch. It was so fun! Happy pumpkin carving to all of you, and be safe :)
