I don't know why I put myself through the pain of flying alone with three little kids, but I did, and we all survived! The flight from Dallas to Oakland was 3 1/2 hours long. The kids were so sleepy from being woken up at 5 am but once we got their breakfast snacks and drinks and settled in our seats they were all ok. The boys did great, no fighting, they just watched their movie on my laptop and were thrilled to be in an airplane :) Isabella did good the first hour as she was entertained by the plane, the people, her snacks and toys, etc. As the second hour rolled by she was getting tired and ready for her morning nap. So I made her a bottle and wrapped her in her blanket and tried rocking her. Now that she was walking she was so squirmy that it didn't work. It took about fifteen minutes of me swaying back and forth with her until she was too tired to fight it and she finally fell limp. She slept for 45 min and the speaking over the intercom woke her up, don't you hate that? It's like, do you have to speak so loud! The rest of the way wasn't too bad and we were all glad when we landed. I had so many compliments from strangers on the plane mentioning how good the kids did :)
Caleb feel asleep the last 30 min of the ride with sisters blanky :)
The only hiccup we had was Bella's lost car seat. We flew on spirit airlines because they had the cheapest flights by half the price than any other airline and it was our first time with them. And they lost her cute car seat. My dad picked us up, he is so funny when it comes to things like that. I'm timid but mad inside while the workers are trying to locate it and solve the problem. My dad walks up, has all our other luggage and the boys with him, and finds out what he needs. The lady at the counter had so much attitude with him and he said, "I'm sensing an attitude from you. I know this car seat isn't a big deal to you, but it is a big deal to us." Haha oh man I had to turn away and laugh, her face was priceless and she tried to be more helpful after that. It was left in Dallas so my dad had to drive to walmart, buy another one, come back, and pick us up.
When we made it home we were all soooo happy and 6 hours of traveling was worth it! We all got in our swimsuits and enjoyed the pool!
Grandpa built a little swing just for her :)
She loved it and went on it every day all summer.
California girl! Me and my swim baby :)
There's something about being home. I've lived in four different states now since I left for college at 17. While I've loved the experiences, new places, and people, there is no place like home!
