Jonathon's Baptism Photo Session

 

These are my favorite pictures of Jonathon, ever! Well maybe his baby pictures capture my heart too, but these 8 year old pictures capture the important event that he was about to partake of, his cute personality, and his loving spirit. My friend Stephanie Ryan took these pictures and we were so happy, as we always are, with how wonderful they turned out. She has taken pictures for us for a few years now and we just love her work. She shot these photos at the Fresno California Temple, one of my favorite places on earth. On that sacred ground, filled when so many special memories of my youth, we walked, laughed, and had a great time capturing these moments.

I can't tell you how excited Jonathon was to get his first real big boy suit! We went all over town looking for the perfect one that he had in mind. He wanted the real deal; with a vest, tie, AND a tie clip, missionary name tag (he thought we could buy those at the store too), a watch, shiny black shoes, black belt, etc. I love this about his personality, when he does something, he wants it done right, and every detail has to be right. He's not like that with everything, just the things he cares about. He knew his special Baptism day was coming up, and he wanted to fit the part.

Since a baby he has always had the BEST smile. So big and bright! He is such a happy boy, always has been. That is meant to be because he has been my light and my warm source in many dark moments. Stephanie and I were laughing because every time she held up her camera he smiled that perfect smile on queue.  After an hour we knew his mouth would be hurting, but he didn't complain about it. Luckily we were done at that point because he's so easy to photograph and listens well, it was a breeze for us all. I'm glad I was able to have a few shots taken with my boy. I sure love him to the moon and back! I'm so proud of him and I'm so happy that these photos reflect the important decision he made and this important milestone in his life as he turned 8 years old.
