Jonathon's 7th Birthday!

Jonathon is now a big 7 year old! I can hardly believe it, that makes me feel really old! It's hard to fathom that 7 years ago I became a mommy for the first time, two months shy of my 21st birthday. So much has happened in seven years, but it also seems like yesterday. I remember his birth like it was recent, so perfect and peaceful. Seeing his little face for the first time. His arrival into our lives changed me forever. Jake and I became parents and became a little family. Jonathon was such a fun and happy baby, always smiling and laughing. And now seven years later, such a big boy, still smiling and laughing, bringing so much light into our family.

For his birthday he wanted a transformers party. Thanks to daddy for showing him all the old transformer cartoons he grew up watching in the 80's, Jonathon got hooked on them :) Jonathon wanted to wear the whole transformers outfit to go with the party theme, as always. He wanted to get masks for all his little friends, girls and boys, to wear. It turned out to be a fun party I think. It was held at my parents home. The kids swam, we had Me n Ed's pizza, they dressed up and ran around playing transformers in the backyard, and we had a surprise come visit. Jake spent all morning making a homemade transformer costume in our garage. It was so cute that he wanted to surprise Jonathon at his party. While the kids were playing Jake walked in through the side gate decked out in a silver spray painted card board transformer outfit, head piece, armor, and all. He came as the enemy to Jonathon's character. When Jonathon saw him he froze and then got really excited and started fighting Jake with the biggest smile on his face. Jake is such a good sport, especially when all the other kids saw and came to help Jonathon. Jake was kicked and punched by several little boys and girls haha. It was hilarious to watch and the video I captured is priceless. After talking with Jonathon after he said that was his favorite part of his party :)

After more swimming we rounded up the kids to hit the transformer pinata and gather all the candy into their goodie bags. We then sang happy birthday and had the best cake, Oreo cupcakes and ice cream. I ordered the cake and cupcakes from my friends who do such a wonderful job at All Things Frosted :)

I hope Jonathon's 7th year is a great one. He sure deserves it.
I love his smile
I love his laugh
I love his eyes
I love how funny he is
I love the things he says that throw Jake and I through a loop
I love how sweet and sensitive he is
I love how thoughtful and willing to please he is
I love the little notes he puts under my pillow
I love how positive he is
I love his imagination
I love his hard work ethic when he puts his mind to a task
I love watching him play
I love how excited he gets about things
He wants everyday to be a party, he seeks meaning in each day.
I love how much he loves to dance and listen to music
I cherish so many memories over the past seven years with this boy and cannot wait for the many more we will share! He is my baby forever and always and I love him to the moon and back and as big as outer space!
