First Trip to the Zoo

Bella had her first trip to the zoo at two weeks old! By that point I was feeling ready to get out of the house and enjoy some summer. Jake's mom was leaving soon, it was beautiful 80 degree weather, and so we decided to use our family membership and go. It was our first outing as a family and it really was a lot of fun. The boys love going to the zoo, and enjoyed showing their grandma from out of town their zoo. Bella slept the entire time of course, with a brief nursing break by the rainforest :) We had a surprisingly yummy lunch there and the best ice cream cones. I was soaking up my time with my kids, doing fun family activities if my favorite thing, and the boys needed that time as much as I did. My favorite part of the entire zoo, besides the new sea lion cove exhibit, was the mama orangutang and her baby, soooo cute :) It's so amazing how nature works, the baby was crawling all over the mama, hanging on her, nursing when it pleased, and we laughed so hard because the mom kept swinging away from the baby and the baby would follow. I thought to myself, I can relate some days, when you just need a minute of a break, a moment to yourself without any children hanging on you. Sometimes I feel like I live in a zoo or work in a zoo ;) Can any other of you moms out there relate?
