The tooth fairy
My little man lost his very first tooth, the exact tiny tooth that grew in first when he was a baby! Seems like yesterday! This moment was so surreal to me, I remember losing my first tooth, at school by the back gate, while looking for lady bugs in the grass, waiting for my mom to pick me up :) This officially initiated my little boy into a big boy. I can't handle blood and things and when he wiggled it in front of me, I had to walk away and he laughed and laughed at causing me to have, as he put it, the hee bee gee bee's! It was true, it gave me shivers looking at his wiggling tooth. Sunday after church he was dead set on pulling it, he didn't want Jake to do it, he wanted Grandpa Garduno. Grandpa told him many stories leading up to this day of the times he pulled out me and my siblings teeth. So Jonathon thought Grandpa was the expert tooth puller. So after church we drove straight to my parents house and right when we walked in he told Grandpa, and Grandpa said, let me see, and yanked on it before anyone blinked twice. It was hanging by a thin... something, and Jonathon pulled the rest of it out so fast. He was so determined, so brave. That kid is something else I tell you. We all screamed and blood was running down his mouth so Grandma and I cleaned him up. Caleb was so entranced by the whole thing, and all week kept pulling on his teeth, seeing if any would come out. I thought it would bleed all day, but little did I know, it bleeds for a couple minutes and that's it! That night he was soooo excited to put his tooth in his special treasure box under his pillow for the tooth fairy. The tooth fairy brought him a special gold coin, a dollar and a little note with fairy dust sprinkles inside! wow, he must be a special boy. I got a quarter back in the day! It was such a special and fun time. I'll remember it always, and how I cried a little that night to Jake in bed because our kids are growing up too fast.
