My best friend Chelsea and I spent the best Spring Break together ever back in April! I don't think enough of my words can describe how fun it was and how needed. We used to spend every spring break together, and it has been years since we went on a girl trip together - alone. I am so happy that we decided to be spontaneous and finalize last fall our
years in the making dream of vacationing in NY together. I am also happy that we have two
awesome husbands that supported us and will continue to support us in our adventures!
Looking through all these photos makes me sad, I miss NY so much! We are already talking of going back, I've always wanted to do NY during the holidays :) After a late night flight into New Jersey (you have to say it new joisey) and very little sleep, which only set precedence for how each night's sleep would be all week, our first day in the Big Apple together began in a rush, ahhhh, city life! Getting from the airport tram to the New Jersey train right into the middle of Manhattan was quite the production. Nothing near our later adventures on the
Subway though mind you.
When we walked out from the train station and up the stairs this is what we saw, huge suitcases in hand, two hours until our Broadway show was to begin! What followed was more fun chaos, we loved it. Trying to wave down a taxi was hilarious. Lesson #1 on getting a taxi, Don't be embarrassed and shy like I was, waving politely. It doesn't work. #2 Don't stand in those long taxi lines for an easy way to get your taxi, especially when you have a show to get to. #3 Point! Don't wave to get a taxi,
point at them and look them right in the eye as they drive near and they will pull over for you. #4 Prepare yourself for the smell inside of the taxi, especially when the driver eats a loaded Subway sandwich, enough said. #5 Know where you need to go, uptown, midtown, upper east side, upper west side, etc. Don't assume taxi drivers know every street and place in Manhattan. #6 Laugh with your best friend uncontrollably and look out each others windows in amazement at where you are and what you are doing. #7 Have your tip money ready and get out fast! The end. You're welcome.

| Uhm, which way is the hotel??? :) Once we arrived at the hotel we changed like superwomen into our dressy clothes, grabbed a bite to eat near the Gershwin theater, and made it just in time for Wicked. |

| Wicked was the best Broadway show I have ever seen! There was something about seeing a real Broadway show, on Broadway that was incredible! I will never forget it. We had great seats, snuck in the rest of our lunch even though the finicky concierge guy kept stalking us and telling us no for this and that. No food girls, no cameras girls, wrong way girls.... |
 |
| The set, costuming, and characters were amazing! I have never heard such amazing, out of this world voices in all my life, and I have heard some pretty stunning ones! It was so fun experiencing it with her ^ |

| Leaving OZ, nooo I want to stay! |
 |
| Because I knew you, I've been changed for the better.... The songs were the best. |
 |
| Broadway! |
 |
| The show is over, ready for some night life! |
 |
| After heading uptown and checking into our hotel near Central Park we ate at the best Latin restaurant, right up my ally. I'm so glad Chelsea's in-law's recommended this beautiful place. Everything about it was gorgeous, just as I pictured NYC restaurants to be, full of ambiance and taste. The food was heaven, we had the best tacos ever and these rolls, oh the rolls! They were called Yucca rolls, which come from a potato like food in Mexico and South America. |
 |
| At the end of our first day we settled back into the hotel with some pina colada's and the craziness, driven by exhaustion, began for the night :) Some of my best memories growing up are with her, talking endlessly for hours about everything under the sun and it felt so good to do that again, even with all the major changes we have experienced in life the last decade; marriage, births of our baby boys, death of dear loved ones, moving to different states, starting businesses, etc! |
