On Valentine's morning we found that the Valentine's Day man had stopped by and left some goodies for us all. Jonathon surprised me and hung hearts (with Jake's help) in the kitchen the night before, with little pictures he drew of memories with me. So sweet! I made pink french toast hearts and strawberry milk before we rushed out the door to school and work. Jonathon had fun at his party and received tons of Valentine's in his cute bag he made. While Jonathon was at school, Caleb helped me get daddy's surprise ready... a countdown to love on the door and a message in a bottle. I love writing love notes and I liked the creative spin on it. I put sand, a little palm tree and an umbrella inside too. It seems the beach is a central part in our love story. When Jake first came to CA for the first time, I took him to Carmel beach, we were married by the beach in the San Diego temple and ran on the beach afterwards with our bridal party, we went on our honeymoon to Cancun, Mexico and spend two amazing weeks on the beach there, and almost every anniversary has been by the ocean, whether in Seattle or CA. SO, it was perfect. I also created the pillow online... when I want a kiss, night or day, I throw it at Jake :) I love the saying.
My lovely mom came over in the evening to watch the boys so Jake and I could go on a little date. She brought over a heart pizza for my little guys and they had a blast with her, as always. Jake and I had a nice Chinese dinner outside under twinkle light and a movie, while talking over past Valentine's days together, our dreams, the future and... we always end up talking about how cute our kids are. We make cute kids, if you haven't noticed ;)
Hope you all had a lovely day, whomever you were with! As always, Ryan was near our hearts and on our minds. I'm so grateful for the power of love, the opportunity to love and for those who love me in return. The love my Heavenly Father has for me in creating a plan centered on love, a Savior who sacrificed all because of his love for you and for me, and the love that is felt here on earth in our families and the enormous amount of love that will yet be felt after this life, forever.
Me and my forever Valentine
