My handsome guys, Jake and Jonathon in front of Grandma's tree Christmas Eve. We had a party at Grandma and Grandpa Tracy's. It was very fun and we had the most amazing dinner and desserts. Most of Jake's family here in WA came so there were aunt's, uncle's, grandma's, grandpa's and lots of cousins everywhere. I made fudge for the first time this year for the party and lots of rolls, and I must say the peanut butter crunch fudge was to die for, yum!
the cousins decorated gingerbread men, and by the picture below you can tell, Jonathon's favorite part is the frosting!

"the look" Jonathon wanted to open other people's gifts, and didn't want to wait until the morning for his...
brother-in-law Josh and Jake spending some quality time together
The aftermath of Christmas morning.... for one little boy! He must have been a good boy this year. Jonathon woke up at 7 am calling our names and I hurried and grabbed my video camera to capture his first reactions to all the presents under the tree that Santa brought. It was priceless, he was so excited, practically ran down the stairs and jumped up and down and kept saying, "thank you Santa!" He noticed the cookies and milk and carrots were eaten too. After the party Christmas Eve Jonathon made sure we left these things out and that we wrote a note telling Santa thank you for coming. After he went to bed Jake and I were up late watching "It's a wonderful life," one of my all time favorite Christmas movies, and a tradition in my family. We had sparkling cider as we wrapped gifts and watched the movie. It was fun, but boy did I fall asleep right when my head hit the pillow. 7 am came too soon :) It was so fun doing Christmas with Jake this year all by ourselves, it's so fun being parents and watching the magic of Christmas in our son's eyes.

After we opened gifts at our home an put together all of Jonathon's toys, we headed over in our pj's to Grandma Tracy's for a huge gourmet Christmas breakfast. My mother-in-law went way out and beyond to prepare such a fantastic breakfast that kept us full until dinner :) We exchanged gifts there too. Here are the cousins above dressed in their matching cowboy pj's that Grandma Tracy made for all the kids. Abigail's are too cute too, she let me play with her hair for a while and put her bow in. I love little girls. The boys played with their new toys all day while we adults ate, slept, refereed the kids, and then played a big game of scrabble. It was a very relaxing day. Christmas night back at home we read the Christmas story in Luke and then after putting Jonathon to bed Jake and I read all the sweet letters written to Ryan last year from family and friends in his white stocking we have hung above the fireplace and reflected on him and the Savior and all of our blessings!"This year we remember the One sent to earth as a child...as we ourselves:
remember one.
enjoy one.
anticipate one."
This quote was said by Matt Mooney on his blog, dad of angel baby Eliot, who was born with Trisomy 18 and featured on the Oprah show. I love it.
Thank you family and friends for your cards and letters and gifts and we hope you have a fun New Years!
