Isabella's Blessing Day

Isabella's special blessing day was on Sunday, September 1st. It was such a beautiful day filled with family, friends, and wonderful memories to last forever. Blessings days are always one of my most favorite days with my children. It is day where sacred words are spoken, special promises revealed, and a day to honor and celebrate them.

Bell looked so beautiful wearing my blessing dress, worn 27 years ago! My mom kept such good care of it in her cedar chest and gave it to me before her blessing day. It fit her just perfectly. The timing was just right, any more weeks gone by and she would have been too chubby for it :)

My mom found this adorable white headband to go with her dress, and Grandma Linda, me and Bella all wore our pearls and lace to match. It's funny how lace and ruffles are still so poplar, so she was definitely in style on her special day.

Words can't describe the special feeling that came over me as she was being blessed in church that afternoon and given a name and a blessing. She was surrounded by many family members, cradled in her daddy's arms. The words that were spoken about my daughter were words I looked forward to hearing my whole life. I feel so blessed to have her. She is such a gift and a blessing. I cannot wait to watch as her beautiful life unfolds. I feel so lucky to be her mom and to have the opportunity to raise her. She is amazing and is going to do such amazing things!

After her blessing and pictures outside with everyone who came to support us, we had a get together at our home with wonderful food. My dad made his famous tri-tip and we also had rolls, salad, and many delicious desserts; fruit pizza, mini cinnamon rolls, cream puffs, and a candy buffet for the kids.

It was great to chat with everyone, we are so grateful for everyones support. Bella slept during most of it, which was nice! Our little princess sure is loved. I hope that as a member of our church she will gain her own understanding of its blessing in her life as she grows as I have. I am proud to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It is the best part of my life. It is my foundation, my future, my happiness and hope! As Bella wore white at her blessing, she will wear white when she is 8 and baptized, and then white again as she marries. Three special white dresses. I love white, I love all that it symbolizes for us.
