St. Patty's Day

St. Patty's day was so funny this year with my boys. They say the funniest things have the best ideas. Caleb didn't know what we were meaning when we talked about the leprechaun coming to our house so I showed him the picture on the lucky charms box I got him and it registered as he said, ohhhh I see. haha. After school got out Friday we gave Jonathon's teacher some chocolate gold coins and he looked so darling in the leprechaun hats they made. He was excited to tell me about how the leprechaun visited his classroom. Jonathon was biting at the bit all weekend to make a leprechaun trap with Jake as they do every year. They have tried many different ways to trap him, but we haven't had any luck catching the little fellow.
Being that St.Patty's day was on a Sunday this year, our church doesn't start until 1pm so we slept in, (meaning our eyes were shut as the boys climbed all around us in our bed). I finally got up after Jonathon proceeded to tell us that he didn't catch the leprechaun and how he took all his gold coins. I made rainbow pancakes with green eggs and green milk for breakfast.Yum! After breakfast Jake put on Darby O'Gill and the Little People off our Apple TV and we watched the whole thing together. It is pretty funny, Jake grew up watching it and introduced it to me several years back, it's one of Sean Connery's first movies in his 20's.
We all put on our green for church and had great meetings there. Jake is now the Gospel essentials Sunday school teacher in our ward for new members and investigators of the church. As I sat there watching and listening to him teach it brought back a flood of memories of when I first met him, and when I first grew to really admire him, way back in our BYU 237th ward when he taught Sunday school to all the college kids. He's such a great teacher, I wish I could teach the way he does. It's so effortless and natural for him.
After church we had my parents over for dinner and dessert. We had brisket, green mashed potatoes, a fresh green salad,  rainbow fruit, green lemon lime drinks and homemade chocolate mint truffles for dessert. Then Jonathon had everyone stay and watch Darby O'Gill again :) It was a fun day with my family, even with the chronic cough I had for two weeks straight, thankfully it's gone! Spring break is here now, the weather is beautiful, my flowers are budding and blooming, and Easter is right around the corner! Happy Spring!

Third trimester begins! The countdown starts!
