College

I have not had time to write about my school yet!
So, I started school!
Online... at the University of Phoenix.
I stopped school when I was 6 mo. a long with Jonathon back in '06 and started back up this past October.
I am finishing my Bachelor of Arts degree in English and I have a little less than two years to go.
When do I have time for school you ask?
During naps times and at night after the kids go to bed. Fun fun!
I'm actually loving it! It is the perfect thing I need right now and I'm glad I'm getting it done because it's important to me to finish, always has been.
I would like to finish before we add another member to our family... but we'll see :)
I'm loving writing five page papers after five page papers.
When I'm in my school mode I escape for the constant "mommy mode."
And that's good for me.  I think every mom needs an outlet. A place where she can think about adult things outside of the everyday home life. And I'm doing what I love, writing, imagining, reading and dissecting wonderful literature pieces, and learning much.
I feel so lucky to live in this day and age where I can complete college courses at the comfort of my own home, on my own schedule, it works out so perfectly.
I'm also grateful for the support of my husband, who handles all the nighttime reunites many nights with the boys after he gets home from a long work day, so I can finish what I need to.
My Grandma, who just turned 80 on Sunday, was my motivator to start and I am so grateful to her for that.
She came over to see our home after we were all moved in and settled.
She talked about how great it was that Jake was settled in his new job, Jonathon loving his new school, etc.
Then she asked me about myself. She asked me how I was. I just simply replied, "I'm good!"
Then she talked about how that wasn't what she meant and then asked, "What are you doing for you?"
This really stopped me in my tracks. I guess, because of how crazy the last year was, with moving and all, I had not thought about me in a while.
So then she went on asking about when I was planning on going back to school to finish my writing degree :)
When I was a little girl I used to write her all kinds of stories.
Since a little child she always loved my writing and believed in me and that has meant the world to me.
So, literally the next day I picked up the phone after putting the boys down for a nap and spent the two hours setting myself all up at the University of Phoenix.
Now here I am, this week is my last week in my Literature in Society class. So that's two courses down, in two months. GPA 4.0. It's very fast paced, but I like that.
I start my next course next week. Survey of Literary Masterpieces. Yes! Excited about this one.
Wish me luck!
