Caleb's 2nd Birthday!

My baby is 2!!!

On Wednesday, January 20th at 5:38 pm. Caleb was born and everyday since that moment has been such a blessing. The night of his birthday last Friday we had a monster party for our little monster and we had so much fun with family and friends. We had a monster cake, yummy reese's peanut butter cup cupcakes, a monster pinata and pizza for dinner. He loved opening his gifts and loved all the presents! His Great-Grandpa's came from both sides of my family, Great-Grandma Helen came, Grandma and Grandpa Garduno, Uncle Chris and Aunt Talynn, Uncle Alex, his girlfriend Emily and Aunt Brittany, our friends Ashley, Jeff and Jamisen Schill came and even Grandma Rae Lea (Jake's mom) flew into town the night before from WA for the big day!  We are so glad she made it because the Seattle area where we used to live is having a huge snow/ice storm right now. Her flight was delayed 3 hrs. and although she didn't land here in CA until past midnight, we are so glad she made it!

I cannot believe it has been two years since my baby was born. Where does the time go? Oh... chasing after him, changing his diapers, playing toys, making his meals, going to the park, running errands, cleaning the house, squeezing in homework, having lots of fun, and giving many kisses, hugs, etc. :) He is on turbo mode all day long, getting into whatever he can get his hands on. He is so different than Jonathon was at 2. I love their differences. I can hardly sit down with Caleb though! He gives the best kisses (tongue and all). Loves to wave hello to everyone, is in love with his big brother and his daddy. He has a huge shoe fetish. He changes his shoes all day long; from his church shoes, to his cowboy boots, to his tennis shoes... and everyone in the house has to be wearing shoes as well or he'll go get them for you!

Caleb loves peanut butter anything, like Jake. Basically, he is Jake's mini me in almost every way. They look so much alike, have the same laid back personality. He loves to figure things out, which is why he is so curious and gets into everything. Always trying to plug random things into sockets, turning on the bathtubs upstairs, throwing Jake's phone into the bath water (yikes), going through files in the office and dumping all the books or DVDs onto the floor. He loves to eat too... a lot, but is a small little guy. We love his little laugh and the way he's starting to talk. He can usually copy anything we say but in his own baby talk. He can say bubba (which is his name for Jonathon), ax (his name for uncle Alex), mama (both for me and Grandma), dada, papa, caw (car, crackers, cookies), oose (juice), daw (dog), and Hola (hello, in Spanish!) He signs please and thank you instead of saying it and hugs when he's sorry. He also shakes his head no instead of actually saying no.

His smile and little teeth with a gap in his two front teeth make me laugh and make my heart gush. We are so lucky to have him as part of our family. The terrible two's are definitely here, he now fights back with big brother and the boys end up wrestling on the floor. I can't imagine how it will be when they're teenagers! eek! But I'm loving every day with my handsome boys and love being their mommy. Happy Birthday to my baby who healed my heart two years ago, I couldn't imagine life without you!
