We had a great Easter with my parents!
I'm so glad they were able to spend all week with us, we had a blast all week long.
We are sad that they are gone, but we will see them in June for my little brother Alex's high school graduation.
Easter cookies we made for the class I teach at church ( all 15 yr. old girls), we had a wonderful lesson based on the talk "He Is Risen" by Thomas S. Monson. You can read it here, I love it.
My favorite quote from his talk:
“If a man die, shall he live again?” To all within the sound of my voice, I declare, If a man die, he shall live again. We know, for we have the light of revealed truth.
“For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
“For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.” 13
I have read—and I believe—the testimonies of those who experienced the grief of Christ’s Crucifixion and the joy of His Resurrection. I have read—and I believe—the testimonies of those in the New World who were visited by the same risen Lord.
The day before Easter we went and got the boys picture taken with the Easter bunny!
Jonathon was SO excited! He had been waiting all week to see the Easter Bunny, he gave him a hug and a high five. Caleb was very curious, he didn't cry at all, he just stared at him with eyes big and tried pulling the bunny's whiskers :) The place where we went had an Easter egg hunt for the kids as well. Jonathon found the golden egg, there was only one, so he was excited about his luck. Inside of it was a dollar, which he used to buy some candies from the sweet shop near by. Caleb saw a couple eggs, crawled to them, and just sat there trying to eat it :) Afterward they had a train ride, so we all went on it. The driver I think had a little crush on my mom because he kept going in circles and turning the train really fast sideways, it felt like a little roller coaster. But after my mom said to him, wow, are you trying to throw the grandma off the train... and he laughed and said, I thought you would like that. haha. Anyway, it was fun!
Easter morning Jonathon finally found his Easter basket the Easter bunny left behind.
Digging through his goodies with Grandma :)

My mom and I love making this Easter Bunny cake every Easter.
We brought her to Jake's parents for dessert, along with a pork roast I made with the best cranberry sauce recipe, we had dinner over there with everyone and an Easter egg hunt inside their house, which I got all on video but no pictures of. Caleb had specific eggs just for him so he wouldn't get trampled by the cousins, inside were gold fish and graham crackers :) He knew exactly what to do, it was hilarious. He saw his eggs, crawled right to them, and put them in the basket I was holding for him. But after several times of doing this he was done and just wanted to dump them all out and open them. Jonathon went full board running all over upstairs in all the rooms to try and find the eggs, this was his fourth Easter egg hunt, lucky boy. We have way too much candy at our house, which I am trying very hard to not look at as I am trying to look my best for Hawaii next month :)
Our little family on Easter, the best picture we could get with our very wiggly boys :)

We hope you all had a wonderful Easter too. When explaining to Jonathon the real meaning of Easter, I couldn't help but feel so touched and grateful for knowledge I have of what happened that Easter, when the Savior of mankind had risen from the dead, had conquered the chains of death, providing a way for all of us to live again, and not only that, but to live again with our families and with Him! We are so blessed. Easter must be one of my favorite holidays, without this day in which we celebrate, without the Resurrection of the Lord, I would be hopeless. With it, my son Ryan will be reunited with his body again, as will I, and I will hold him once again, forever!
In our ward choir on Easter we sang, "How great Thou art" I thought it was so appropriate, especially the verses,
- And when I think that God, His Son not sparing,
- Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
- That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,
- He bled and died to take away my sin:
- When Christ shall come with shouts of acclamation
- And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!
- Then I shall bow in humble adoration,
- And there proclaim, my God, how great Thou art!
