Happy Day

Jake and I celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary yesterday! Six years of marriage has gone really fast, faster than I thought it could. It has been an exciting ride, with ups and downs to add lots of learning experiences for us as a young couple. Having three kids really makes life go flying by. It's funny how each year brings a different flavor in marriage. For instance, or first year was bliss, just perfect and romantic. Our second year of marriage was wonderful and exciting. We became first time parents and bringing Jonathon into the world went perfectly and we were happy little parents. Our third year was busy busy, going to school, Jonathon was one and running everywhere and Jake was teaching seminary an working full-time as well. Our fourth year of marriage was the hardest. We were pregnant with Ryan. When we lost him it put a big strain in our marriage. We were both very tired, very stressed and very emotional. Our fifth year of marriage we felt like champs! We had gotten through the hardest time a couple could face, we brought another baby boy into the world (Caleb) and we just savored up that fifth year, so grateful for our blessings and each other. To say we had a whole new view of admiration, respect and a deeper love than we thought possible would be an understatement that fifth year. Now at six years we are busy busy again, with Jake starting school again, working full-time and still teaching seminary in the morning. Caleb is now getting close to walking and is into everything and is keeping us on our toes with his funny little personality. With each year we are still learning new things about each other, which I love. I am grateful for all that marriage has taught me about myself, about love and sacrifice, about life. I look forward to this next year heading towards our 7th year. I'm so lucky to have married my best friend six years ago in San Diego, in the most beautiful and correct place. I'm so lucky he's still my best friend, always making me laugh and smile, and always will be. I'm grateful for his unconditional love for me and thankful that he has made so many of my dreams come to life. He knows me better than anyone, he is my anchor, my support, my shoulder to cry on, the smile that lifts me up, the best daddy and the warm hand that holds mine through thick and thin.

We went to dinner at the best Italian restaurant by Lake Tapps. I met him at work at the castle because his mom was going to watch the kids. When I came inside with the boys he surprised me with the cutest hot pink corsage bracelet. When we walked out to the car after getting the boys settled, there was a beautiful bouquet of flowers in my favorite colors in the passengers seat with a sweet card. :) Dinner was beautiful sitting by the fire by the lake and so yummy... the chocolate lava dessert was amazing.

My anniversary gift this year.... a Maui vacation for 7 days in May!!!
I can't hardly wait!!! Jake and I haven't been on a vacation alone together, out of the state of WA, since we went to Texas right after we were married, 6 years ago! It's about time. And much needed.

Oh happy day! Can't wait to be sitting here, soaking up the sun and enjoying the most beautiful and peaceful scenery. Love you babe!
