Storage!

I have been putting off some major organizing projects so finally Jake, Jonathon and I went to Ikea for a little organizing. It was really fun. They have the cutest little kid size shopping carts that Jonathon strolled around, he felt so big. And the frozen yogurt there is very yummy. It was there first times, I had been once, and there was so much to see and talk about and dream about too. We bought this toy storage unit there that we love! All of Jonathon's toys are so organized now and I feel good now that the pile of toys shoved in one bin there once was, is not annoying me anymore. I labeled the boxes myself with pictures so that Jonathon could recognize himself what toys go where at the end of the day when he helps me pick up. It's working out really well! Thanks to handy Jake for putting it all together. Jake wants to put a t.v. in the middle there so Jonathon can watch his little shows in his room too.

nice and organized toy room

The other project was Jonathon's closet. I have been denying the fact that Jonathon is not a baby anymore and is becoming a big boy now, so his closet still had lots of baby stuff. We were running out of room in there for his clothes and accessories, so I got these big and clear bins at Ikea too for a great price, cheaper than Walmart even, to fold and organize his clothes in according to age. It's nice having them clear so I don't have to worry about labeling. Our boy has waaay to many clothes! Five big boxes full (one behind) for 24 months. I feel like I can breathe better with these two projects checked off of my long list :)

looks GREAT! That is something I need to do! I plan to do a little before we move, and then after we move, slowly unpack and organize. Wish me luck!

Ashley, I'm jealous. I crave organization and yet, it's always the last thing on my list. Today, I went to start on our second bedroom to start organizing it. But now, everything is just sitting in the hallway without a real place to call home. Maybe I'll check out Ikea too. :)

Yeah, that is on my "to do list" as well! I just can't seem to organize things, Eligh has way too many toys to even keep track of, which toys goes where, but I love your idea with the picture on each box, I should try that, too!
