Easter 2013

When we arrived home from our beach trip, the weekend was all about Easter! We dyed Easter eggs, visited the Easter bunny at the mall (don't you love their thumbs up, they look like little surfer dudes), and on Easter Sunday morning we ran all over the house looking for our Easter surprises from the Easter bunny. The boys loved finding their baskets and digging through them, mommy got some of her favorite See's from her hunny bunny, and daddy had to go on a hunt with special clues to find his treats. Church is not until the afternoon for us, so we watched church videos about the true meaning of why we celebrate Easter. It was neat explaining to Jonathon how much the Savior, Jesus Christ, means to me and how much His sacrifice means to me. He is old enough to understand more and it was neat to see a spark of understanding and amazement in the Easter story.  Having many loved ones in heaven, especially having our son there, the power of the Resurrection means everything to me! We are so lucky to have this gift. I know God loves me, my family, and all of us, to give us this gift. Through Christ, and His atonement and Resurrection, I am able to see my son again, and spend forever with him. This gives me peace, especially on hard days when I miss him so much.

After church all the family gathered at my Grandpa's house. We had a big Easter feast, my dads Tri Tip, Ham, potatoes, salad, my homemade rolls, vegetables, and many desserts, including my moms famous bunny cake, my coconut nutella macaroons, and chocolate strawberry carrots :) The cousins had fun playing together, Caleb had fun playing playing with a dead rat he found in the backyard haha (no joke, so gross, we disinfected Caleb for a while). Afterwards the Easter bunny had come and hid many many eggs aroun the yard for the kids to hunt. Jonathon was the lucky one and found the golden egg with $10 and several other eggs with money, he would shake them and see if they had candy or money, he's getting too old! It was a great evening spending time with family and with my grandpa. I sure love him, my boys do to and I love watching the special bond they have with their great-grandpa. Hope you all had a great Easter! Next up for us, a quick trip to Utah, my baby shower, Jake's birthday, and then the arrival of baby girl Tracy!!!
