The hubby and I went to the Clovis Rodeo a couple weeks ago! I love planning fun dates. Wouldn't that be a fun occupation? I was just thinking what a fun job that would be to plan dates for couples, and arrange it all for them, get the babysitter lined up, find creative and fun things for the couple to do that they enjoy, etc. This would be such a helpful service, since I think taking out time for a date night is hard to do for a lot of couples, but vital for any marriage. Anyway! I have always wanted to go to a rodeo, so I heard this rodeo was coming and planned it out for us. I wish we would have worn cowboy hats, but the only ones we have at home are our boys' cowboy hats that are too small....didn't want to go buy some... but we had fun without them ;)
Old Clovis is home to real cowboys and cowgirls and watching the rodeo was really amazing... and dangerous. I was fascinated... and closed my eyes on and off. I love cowboys! Maybe Jake should become a cowboy on the side ;) I would love to own some horses one day too.
The rodeo was right up our ally, BBQ going everywhere, bails of haystacks where we sat and ate dinner and munched on red vine ropes while country music played. After the bull riding and horse riding shows there was a concert by Justin Moore. Jake and I haven't been to a concert together in a while, I love going to concerts! So, it was really fun, a little crazy.... but fun. I love some of Justin Moore's songs, like, "If heaven wasn't so far away" and "Bait a hook."
Such a fun date night. We both would love to live in Texas. We love that laid back, country, slow- pace lifestyle (very different from our life currently ironically), with BBQ and big front porches. Maybe someday we'll live there for a bit before we retire on the beach in CA :)
