Four years ago something wonderful happened. It was one of the best days of my life. Jonathon was born a healthy 8 pounds and 1 ounce. He was healthy, the pregnancy was a piece of cake, labor and delivery were beautiful and quick. I thought, man if it's this easy each time, I might have dozens of kids. Little did I know then when I was 20 what life would bring our family in four years. But through it all, Jonathon has been such a gift to us and we are so lucky to have him. Through times of trial he has been the sunshine in the rain. In times of joy he has added to it immensely. He has made us smile, laugh and work hard at times when we may have not wanted to. I am so glad he was my first born, it couldn't have been a more perfect day and I wouldn't be who I am today without him. He makes Jake and I so happy.
As I look at him now, so full of energy, so smart with a huge vocabulary, looking so much like a little boy with a very colorful personality, I wonder how I got so lucky to have him as my son forever. Jonathon is such a daddy's boy, mommy's too, but those two are more than just two peas in a pod, they have their own world together and its heart melting to watch. He is growing so fast, I feel like four years was four minutes! If this is how fast time flies with kids, my boys will be teenage boys eating me out of house and home like my brothers did by what will seem like next year! I really try and stop and enjoy each moment with him, each day, because like the talk President Monson gave, soon the patter of little feet will be lone gone and we will wish we didn't long for "nap times" then and savored the little things, even when we are exhausted.
Jonathon wanted a dragon party this year after the movie "How to Train your Dragon." It was tuns of fun preparing everything for his party and it turned out so fun and cute! We had all the family here in WA over to our home along with some friends from our ward here. We had Jonathon"s favorite, pizza, along with capri suns for the kids. We opened presents, I don't think there's a kid out there that now owns more dragons than he does, we had a very cool dragon pinata, and we closed the evening with a homemade dragon birthday cake, the first character cake I have ever made! Jonathon had a great birthday and was the happiest kid on the block today.
Happy fourth birthday sweetheart, you are our everything! Thank you for being you! May this next year bring so much fun, health and growth.
Love forever and ever,
Mommy and Daddy

That's so funny! Cooper had the exact same party. He had the same cake and that same pinata. Our boys are so much alike. I wish they could see eachother more.
