About us...

So after our girls night out when some of the women in our ward here in WA were telling their love stories with their husbands and how they met, I really wanted to write mine out for fun, so here it is!
I met Jake in January of 2004 the day after he got home from his mission in San Antonio, Texas. And boy could you tell he had just gotten home, with his nice hair due and jeans from the 90's. haha. I shook his hand and was introduced in the parking lot of Raintree Apartments in Provo, UT where we were both living. His best friend/ mission companion/ Best man at our wedding Mark introduced us. And that was it for a while, just acquaintances because I was already in an on/off again relationship with the guy I was in love with since 13 years old
(He was the cute talented high school jock, on his way to major league baseball from winning a CA championship game his Senior year, my close friends and I introduced him to the church and had him take missionary discussions and he was baptized into the church when I was 15 , I was sure I would marry him. I decided my Senior year I would move to Provo with my best friend and go to UVSC and try out the UT seen. After I moved away he fell away from the church slowly... and things dwindled away. He is still my best guy friend and is married with a cute little girl....To make a long story short! :)
So when I set my priorities right and knew like I always had I wouldn't settle for less than anything but a temple marriage and a returned missionary, things began to fall into place, very quickly. Jake and I became really good friends, always did things together, and were good friends for about 4 months. Then I started to notice things changing. I never in my life had met someone so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the gospel at such a young age! He was the Sunday school teacher for our byu 237Th ward and as I would sit in the back and listen to his lessons, I just couldn't believe it. I felt way out of his league on that level. And on the other hand Jake tells me now the first time he saw me he had never seen someone so beautiful and soft spoken and nice and felt way out of MY league. One of our first conversations we had that lasted like over two hours really late at night, we told each other all about our dreams and goals and we had so many in common. So that March he asked me out on a group date bowling, and after that date we knew we liked each other. We went on a couple single dates, held hands, had a few conflicts but then resolved them ;), had our first kiss as we danced at midnight in the Raintree parking lot by his big red truck, and after that we were an item for good. We both went back to our home towns for the summer, but he flew me up here to WA to visit his family (and he never really told me about the whole "Castle" family business, so when we drove up you could imagine my astonishment, that's Jake though, I would have never guessed because of how humble he is. Then he flew down to CA so I could show him my turf and my family. He proposed the day after my brother Chris got home from his mission from Texas when we went down to CA in October of 2004. Jake proposed to me on my favorite beach in CA called Carmel right at sun set when the sky is hot pink and orange! I had no idea it would be that soon. I told him I wanted to marry him but not until he met my brother and got his approval and I knew that they would be close, because my big brother and I are very close. So they met, got along great, look and act almost the same, and he proposed the next day, haha. As we were running on the beach laughing and holding hands I wasn't even thinking when he was telling me how much he loves me and how he can't wait for our future.... until he got that look in his eyes and stopped running around and stood still and I was like ohhhh boy! You know what I mean... We were engaged for 4 (long) months and married in February!!
~The end! ~
